Derivation of a second-order model for Reynolds stress using renormalization group analysis and the two-scale expansion technique

With the two-scale expansion technique proposed by Yoshizawa,the turbulent fluctuating field is expanded around the isotropic field.At a low-order two-scale expansion,applying the mode coupling approximation in the Yakhot-Orszag renormalization group method to analyze the fluctuating field,the Reynolds-average terms in the Reynolds stress transport equation,such as the convective term,the pressure-gradient-velocity correlation term and the dissipation term,are modeled.Two numerical examples:turbulent flow past a backward-facing step and the fully developed flow in a rotating channel,are presented for testing the efficiency of the proposed second-order model.For these two numerical examples,the proposed model performs as well as the Gibson-Launder (GL) model,giving better prediction than the standard k-ε model,especially in the abilities to calculate the secondary flow in the backward-facing step flow and to capture the asymmetric turbulent structure caused by frame rotation.     

水泥砂浆的一个热粘弹性率型损伤本构模型

利用SHPB实验系统及自行研制的混凝土类材料快速高温加热设备,对水泥砂浆试件进行了不同 温度(20~600℃)和3种冲击速度下的实验,得到了不同温度和冲击速度下水泥砂浆试件的应力应变关系曲 线。基于ZWT粘弹性本构模型,并且考虑高温下水泥砂浆损伤演化规律都服从Weibull分布,提出了一个水 泥砂浆的热粘弹性率型损伤本构模型。通过数据拟合,获得了本构模型的相关参数,结果表明:理论预测和实 验结果吻合良好。     

基本解方法与边界节点法求解Helmholtz方程的比较研究

On the nonlocal symmetries of certain nonlinear oscillators and their general solution

In this Letter we establish the integrability of two nonlinear oscillators through group theoretical method. We utilize the algorithm given in [M.L. Gandarias, M.S. Bruzon, J. Nonlinear Math. Phys. 18 (2011) 123] and construct nonlocal symmetries for these two oscillators. From the knowledge of the latter we derive first integral and general solution for these two nonlinear nonpolynomial oscillator equations.     

Combined Wronskian solutions to the 2D Toda molecule equation

By combining two pieces of bi-directional Wronskian solutions, molecule solutions in Wronskian form are presented for the finite, semi-infinite and infinite bilinear 2D Toda molecule equations. In the cases of finite and semi-infinite lattices, separated-variable boundary conditions are imposed. The Jacobi identities for determinants are the key tool employed in the solution formulations.     

Exact solutions of the generalized Bretherton equation

The generalized Bretherton equation is studied. The Bäcklund transformations between traveling wave solutions of the generalized Bretherton equation and solutions of polynomial ordinary differential equation are constructed. The classification problem for meromorphic solutions of the latter equation is discussed. Several new families of exact solutions for the generalized Brethenton equation are given.     

Higher order solutions of Lieb-Liniger integral equation

We study higher order solutions of Lieb-Liniger integral equation for a one-dimensional δ-function Bose gas. By use of the power series expansion method, the integral equation is solved and the correction terms which improve the Bogoliubov theory are calculated analytically in the weak coupling regime. Physical quantities such as the ground state energy and the chemical potential are represented by a dimensionless parameter γ=c/ρ, where c is the interaction strength and ρ is the number density of particles while the quasi-momentum distribution function is expressed in terms of a dimensionless parameter λ=c/K, where K is the cut-off momentum.     

Effective Polytropic Indices of Anisotropic Planetary Magnetosheath Plasmas with Magnetoacoustic Waves

Magnetosheath models for the planets Earth, Jupiter and Saturn are developed within the frame of the double‐adiabatic Chew‐Goldberger‐Low approximation. It is shown that in all three magnetosheaths slow and fast magnetoacoustic waves are generated, the dispersions of which considerably differ from that of isotropic systems. If slow magnetoacoustic waves exist in the magnetosheaths, then the effective polytropic coefficient of the plasma may be smaller than unity ‐ that means compression of the plasma is accompanied, in the average, by cooling. Such polytropic coefficients are not obtained when fast magnetoacoustic waves are excited (© 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
